Changing Seasons

Spring is just about sprung although there is talk of snow again this coming Sunday. Just a few days ago I was going to update you on the progress of the magnolia tree here by the soap shop…and then it snowed on the blossoms. The sun then did it’s best to repair the effects of the snow. Reflecting on Mother Nature puts me in mind of how it really is in our lives day by day:  the rain, then the Son, the wind and then the still small voice that dwells within reminding us that all ‘will be well’. And so it is!

Orders are beginning to pick up again so that is gift. There are two new fragrances available in the Soap Shop:   Dreamscape and Mountain Rain.  Dreamscape - this rich and dense fragrance will envelope you like a warm blanket on a winter’s night (since snow is still predicted!!). Mountain Rain - the crisp, light, and clean fragrance of a mountain meadow after a summer rain -delightful!

Sr. Judy who works with me here in the soap shop asked if she could make a batch of soap this morning with my lending guidance as needed.   So that was the plan and all was going well until we encountered a ‘light’ moment that I’ll never forget. Sister was setting the fragrance out for the batches we planned to make when she looked at the cans of fragrances on the shelf and declared “where is the fragrance-free?”  at which point we both lost it!

Wishing you a blessed Holy Week and Easter!

Sister Cathleen–I don’t know if you remember me, but I came over about 1 1/2 months ago to purchase soaps for hostess gifts for a mission trip to South Africa. I am happy to tell you that all who were recipients, including members of my mission team were thrilled with your soaps and lotions and the story of their origin. I shared your blog with them. Thank you, Jennie
